Electrification of Mobility - Lessons learnt fromt the ECE region

GreenBee contributed as lead author to the development of the UNECE publication "Electrification of Mobility: Lessons Learnt from the ECE Region", which offers a comprehensive overview of the current state of electric mobility and its role in the transition to sustainable transport. Representing our team, Roland Ferwerda and Jan van Dinther participated as contributing experts, sharing technical insights and practical experience drawn from international projects in e-mobility strategy and infrastructure development.

The report analyzes key enablers and challenges that are shaping electric mobility today, including policy and regulatory frameworks, infrastructure expansion, and the integration of electric vehicles into broader energy systems.

The report also offers in-depth guidance on key elements that are essential to a well-functioning electric mobility ecosystem, including charging infrastructure, data management, smart grid integration, roaming solutions, and the importance of interoperability and user-centric design. It also addresses operational risks such as safety, cybersecurity, and system performance, emphasizing the need for coordination across sectors and well-informed, data-driven decision-making.

In particular, it highlights the strategic value of data analysis in optimizing the planning, rollout, and management of electric vehicles and their charging networks. Real-time data from vehicles and infrastructure supports seamless interaction among stakeholders, enhances system efficiency and safety, and enables predictive maintenance and performance monitoring by manufacturers and service providers.

This publication is intended as a reference for policymakers, utilities, and mobility stakeholders, offering actionable insights to inform national strategies and support the scaling of zero-emission transport.

GreenBee is proud to contribute to international efforts that promote a resilient, data-informed, and interoperable e-mobility ecosystem.
